The South Region of Tunisia has a distinct geographical location, as it is open to the exterior through a coastal zone extending along around 480 kms, bordering Lybia to the East and Algeria to the West. All of these facts contributed to the integration of the Region of the South within its Maghrebian, Arabic, and Euro-mediterranean surrounding.
